Music from the past

Today I saw that I also have made a category called Music, but that I have never used it. That’s why I decided to make a blog today about music, and in practicular the music I listened to when I still was a little Hilde.

I must admit, when I was younger I didn’t really like music as I do now. Maybe it was cause there wasn’t internet yet, or maybe because I didn’t like the music that much. However, I managed to find a few songs I listened quite a lot when I was younger. All these songs are from the time 1999 – 2004-ish. It was the time where I was around 6 – 11 years old.

The first song is Perdono by Tiziano Ferro. I think it was also pretty popular in the US/UK (?). I don’t really know much about this song, but I remember listening to it back then.

Then, there is the song Get Busy by Sean Paul. He was quite popular back then, and I even remember that I named one of my goldfish after him, a tiny black-orange fish.

Oh and the Venga Boys! I don’t know if you know them, they are a dancegroup from Holland, but were also really known in other countries. My sister wrote in one of my friendbooks that we used to have in elementary school, that her favourite song was “Sex on the Beach from Venga Boys”, LOL. Here is We’re Going To Ibiza. I can still sing this song to the end!

And do you guys remember Las Ketchup with the Ketchup Song?! I never could do the dance though (just like the Macarena).

There’s also this song, Aicha. Maybe you know the French version of Aicha? Well this one is written by Outlandish. When I was younger I loved this song so much. I had this crush on a boy (I was really young) and I changed the lyrics into his name… Bhaha.

And the last one I want to show you is also a Dutch one, Wereldmeid (Worldgirl) sung by Katja Schuurman. I found this one by accident, but somehow I still remember this song, although it was from 1997 (when I was 4). I believe that this song was made to promote the internet. She sings about “he” made her a real “worldgirl”, he showed her the world.

Other songs I listened to that are worth mentioning, are: Alane by Wes, Don’t Speak by No Doubt, Big Big World by Emilia and of course the Numa Numa song!!
